| Before leaving Ochagavia we stopped to buy some bread for lunch. Jim soon figured out the perfect way to carry it. |
If there was one day on our walk that we could have taken a bus instead this was it. It was very hot, probably in the 40's and it was a long dreary walk along the tops on a gravel forestry road, interspersed with farming. We took many stops in the shade to recover.
After reaching a high point of 1370m we left the gravel road and followed a walking track through more attractive open scenery.
Then it was a big drop down through a forest to Isaba. There was no suitable camping so we enjoyed the comforts of staying in a hostel.
The view from our balcony.
We went out to dinner at a local cafe, Pension Txiki, where we enjoyed a very filling 3 course dinner with a bottle of wine for 12 Euros. Eating out in Spain does not start until 8.30pm.
23.8km, 10 hours
