A walk into the popular Parque National de Ordesa y Monte Perdido and a steep, scary climb up to the Refugio de Goriz. We walked an estimated 15km today with a climb of 1100m.
There was a violent thunder and lightening storm at 4.30 in the morning with hail the size of marbles. Fortunately our tents stood up to this battering.
The hail was still lying around at 9am
A very good track in to the famous Ordessa canyon.
Looking towards the Circo de Soaso. - this is a very popular day walk - there were bus loads of walkers on the trail.
A forbidding wall in front of us!
You can see the start of the trail angling up the rock face. It was an exposed track which I found scary.
Phew! at the top and looking back the way we had come
Hastily putting up our tents - another thunderstorm with hail was fast approaching
Along with many others we were camped beside the Refugio de Goriz
