In France after the hike - Bagneres de Luchon

2 September - my last afternoon in Spain was spent in the town of Bossost.  This town is very close to the border with Spain and, being a Sunday, the town was full of French people buying large quantities of cheap booze to take across the border.  Lots of tacky souvenirs as well.  Then three days in the very pretty township of  Bagneres de Luchon, France (3-5 September).

I stayed in this hotel in Bossost - Hostal Suley
This was my taxi driver who took me across the Col de Portito into France.  She spent quite a lot of time taking calls on two different mobile phones while negotiating the zig-zags.
Back in Bagneres de Luchon - some famous cols.  I remembered being in this pretty township before and recognised the shop where I had my bike fixed on our last visit in 2005.
The Tour de France had passed through here 18-19 July and there were still lots of signs about.
A popular cycling town

A familiar marker! This one for the GR10 - the French long distance route traversing the Pyrenees
